Methods of Montage- Rhythmatic

Through the reading "Methods of Montage", I finally understand how much influences the rhythms of the character can have on a movie. It's like the author said about the film sequence "Odessa steps" and "The Untouchable"- Both started out with long shots and different kind of rhythms, which give us a sense of a daily life "Odysse steps". But as the scene gets more intense, the same goes for the rhythms. As seen in "The Untouchable", the scene where the shooting begins and the baby stroll begins to fall, the pace just keep getting faster that makes our heart beat gradually match with it and we starting to feel the same intensive feelings as the character. This is a really bizarre thing to think of especially when you're in the film making major because when people say "Film should be able to addresses the audiences in different ways", this is one of the most important technique for that aspect!
